September on the farm

Not much going on at the moment as the weather is no good for ground preparation and or drilling.
Just handhoeiing in the pyrethrum for the moment and cleaning up around the farm. Hopefully the weather turns soon so that we can put our poppies onions and broccoli in.

Who we are and what we do.

We are Johan and Nathalie Wolfert.

We moved to Tasmania from the Netherlands and started our new farm here. We grow Brussels sprouts, onions, beans, peas, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, poppies, pyrethrum and wheat.
All our vegetables are Freshcare accredited and we apply integrated pest management (IPM) wherever we can.
We take pride in producing top quality produce, but also taking care of our farm and the environment.

Before that we owned a farm in the Netherlands where we grew potatoes, onions, sugarbeet, wheat, grasseed flax, barley, dry brown beans, dry peas. We also had an orchard where we grew apples, pears, plums, cherries, etc..
Beside that we had a green house with pot plants for the balconies and also had a shop at the house where we sold our produce and we supplied the local supermarket.

Johan has had 3 years of Ag school (univerity level) and 2 years of horticultural schooling and multiple other courses.

Nathalie has had 2 years of horticultural schooling, advanced agricultural courses and also multiple other courses.
